Accessibility Statement

We believe dryer vent safety information and the ability to request service should be available to all Fort Wayne and Allen County residents. Accessibility is part of how we design and maintain this site.

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced in ADA web-accessibility guidance. We review pages against the A and AA success criteria as we add and update content.

• A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page, letting keyboard users bypass the header.
• All interactive elements — links, buttons, and form fields — have a visible focus outline.
• Every form field has a programmatic label, and the contact-method choice uses a labeled fieldset and legend.
• The page language is declared in the HTML so screen readers pronounce content correctly.
• Navigation regions are labeled, and headings are used in a logical order.
• Color contrast on body text and buttons meets AA thresholds against their backgrounds.
• Decorative images are marked hidden from assistive technology; meaningful images include descriptive alt text.
• We respect the operating-system "reduce motion" preference.

Our interactive service-area and risk-zone maps use the third-party Leaflet/OSM library. While map controls are keyboard-reachable, some map tiles and pop-ups may not be fully screen-reader accessible. If you cannot use the map, call us and we will look up your area for you.
